Press Release Body: Tampa, Florida - July 23, 2008 - Shoe Designer Mark Schwartz has launched his new website of shoe art titled High Heeled Art, which features original paintings of women\'s shoes. The collection is a vivid spectrum of heels in motion, capturing the essence of high heels in a way that elevates the casual notion of shoes being works of art, to a level worthy of a gallery viewing.
Not since the 1950s has an artist used the shoe as their signature muse. And never has a shoe designer transformed his skills from a collection bound in leather to canvas. By using freehand, stencils and mixed media, Schwartz has immortalized the favorite accessory of women worldwide.
\"As much as women adore dressing their feet, my one-of-a-kind paintings now allow them to dress their walls,\" says Schwartz, who began his career in the world of shoes by happenstance.
An invitation to a gallery event featuring Roger Vivier\'s shoes in 1984 landed Schwartz the coveted position as Vivier\'s protégé. Ironically, Andy Warhol - the artist whose renderings embodied the 1955-1959 shoe art phenomenon - would become a major inspiration to Schwartz in 1985. Five years into the success of his Diamond Dust Shoes and Pop Art paintings, Warhol paid regular visits to Vivier\'s NYC showroom, where he encouraged Schwartz to follow his vision of creative shoe art.
High Heeled Art original paintings came at the heels of Schwartz\'s private shoe salon in New York, where he designed shoes from 1996-2003. With bare walls in need of decor, he used his art sketches to dress the walls of the shoe salon, only to see his clients\' immediate interest in purchasing the art right off the walls.
From the art connoisseur to the shoe-obsessed maven, High Heeled Art is a worthwhile investment for those who celebrate the beauty in the composition of the shoe. In addition to the paintings, Schwartz has created limited edition T-shirts evoking his artistry of the shoe.
